A five-week-old baby boy has died after being mauled by the family dog on the NSW Central Coast.
Emergency services were called to the home on Jeffs Close, Kariong about 2.20am.
Police performed CPR on the baby, assisted by NSW Ambulance paramedics, but he could not be revived and died at the scene.
The boy’s parents were home at the time of the incident and the family dog has been secured, NSW Police said in a statement on Sunday.
A crime scene was established but there are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
