BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh is expected to receive light-to-moderate rainfall during the entire week between July 11 and July 16. Moderate rain is expected over west Madhya Pradesh, as well as east Madhya Pradesh. Many parts experienced light rain on Saturday.

As far as rainfall is concerned, Kumbhraj town in Guna received the highest amount of 72 mm rainfall, while Sarai area in Singrauli recorded the highest amount of 66.4 mm showers in the past 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Saturday. Bhopalís Kolar area received 4.8 mm rainfall, while Indoreís Dipalpur and Mhow areas recorded 10.5 and 6 mm rainfall, respectively, during the same period. Due to the rain, the temperature level has gone down to some extent.

Senior meteorological department officer GD Mishra said, "The monsoon has once again become active in Madhya Pradesh, as large parts of the state received light showers on Saturday. Now, throughout the week, the state will receive light-to-moderate rainfall."

South-westerly winds are growing strong in the Arabian Sea, which is bringing forth moisture to the state. Besides that, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the north-west Bay of Bengal on Sunday which is going to bring further moisture into Madhya Pradesh. The trough at mean sea level now runs from north-west Rajasthan to east-central Bay of Bengal across Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha, he added.
