Ludhiana: The Special Task Force (STF) wing of Ludhiana nabbed two drug smugglers and recovered 570 gram of heroin from their possession. The accused have been identified as Mangal Singh (30) of Amritsar and Ram Rattan (29) of Basti Jodhewal. Inspector Harbans Singh, in charge of STF, said acting on a tip-off, a naka was laid at a strategic place where a Ford Fiesta car was intercepted and checked, which led to the recovery of heroin. The inspector said Mangal, who was into the trade from the past around 10 years, had secured bail in a drug case a few days ago and had started the trade again. Accused Rattan confessed in his questioning that he was running a welding shop but during lockdown he had to leave the shop, so he started selling heroin. TNS
