New Delhi, Jul 10 (UNI) Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party UP general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday attacked the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh over the alleged violence during filing of nominations for blockhead polls and misbehaviour with women.
There is an atmosphere of anarchy in the state, the Congress leaders alleged.
Mr Gandhi tweeted, 'Violence in Uttar Pradesh has been renamed as 'Masterstroke'."
He also posted a news clipping which read," violence occurred in Kannauj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur Unnao Gorakhpur on July 8 during filing of nomination for blockhead under the tree-tier panchayat polls in Uttar Pradesh. Women also faced indecent behaviour".
Ms Vadra said, "A few years ago a rape victim raised her voice against a BJP MLA, and attempt was made to kill her and her family. Today, BJP has crossed all limits to stop the nomination of a woman. Same Government. Same behavior."
The state general secretary in-charge of the Congress also posted a video purportedly showing a woman being stopped from filing her nomination.
