Eknath Khadse’s son-in-law arrested by ED in Pune land deal case

The arrest was made after ED claimed that Chaudhary was not cooperating with the probe.

Mumbai’s Special Court has remanded Girish Chaudhary, son-in-law of NCP leader Eknath Khadse into the Enforcement Directorate’s custody till Monday.

He was arrested yesterday in a money laundering case linked to the purchase of a government land plot in Pune in 2016.

The arrest was made after ED claimed that Chaudhary was not cooperating with the probe.

In 2017, Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had registered an FIR against Eknath Khadse, his wife Mandakini, son-in-law Girish Chaudhary, and original land-owner Abbas Aqani.

Even though the ACB has given a clean chit to Khadse, the ED has summoned him to appear before it today.
