Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday chaired the meeting of the Union Council of Ministers. The meeting comes a day after the expansion of the Council of Ministers and reshuffle in the charge of ministers. The prime minister usually meets with cabinet ministers and ministers of state after expansion or reshuffle. The Prime Minister chaired a meeting of the cabinet and state ministers last week in which the challenges arising out of the corona epidemic were discussed.

Earlier, PM Modi took a meeting of the Union Cabinet, in which many big decisions were taken in the field of health and agriculture. Giving information about these decisions, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that the government has taken important decisions in the field of health. He told that a package of Rs 23 thousand crores will be brought for how to deal with Covid in the future. The central government will give Rs 15,000 crore and the state governments will give Rs 8,000 crore.

The Union Health Minister said that pediatric units will be set up in 736 districts. 20,000 ICU beds will be prepared. 10,000 liters of oxygen storage will be arranged in every district. A buffer stock of medicines worth one crore rupees will be made in each district. All the provisions of this package of Rs 23,000 crore will be implemented in the next nine months.

At the same time, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Coconut Board Act was brought in 1981 to increase production due to coconut cultivation in the country and to provide convenience to the farmers, which the government is going to amend. The chairman of the board will be a non-official person. It will be from the farming class which knows the ground reality of farming. Efforts will be made to get more resources to the agricultural markets. Agriculture Infrastructure Fund has been amplified by one lakh crore rupees under self-reliant India, APMC will be able to use that fund.
