Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel, who had additional charge of governor, Madhya Pradesh welcomes newly appointed governor Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel at governor office

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Mangubhai Chhaganbhai Patel took oath as governor of Madhya Pradesh at a ceremony held at Governor House in Bhopal on Thursday.

He is 30th governor of the state and will succeed Anadiben Patel, who had additional charge of governor, Madhya Pradesh.

Chief justice of Madhya Pradesh High Court, Mohammed Rafiq administered the oath of office to Patel in presence of chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, leader of opposition Kamal Nath and other leaders.

The senior BJP leader and former minister of Gujrat, Patel, 77, was appointed as the governor of Madhya Pradesh by president of Ram Nath Kovind on tuesday. He reached Bhopal on Wednesday night. He was received by chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He was also welcomed by in-charge governor of Madhya Pradesh Anandiben Patel.

A native of Navsari in South Gujrat, Patel had started his political career as a member municipality, Navsari in year 1982. He is well known tribal leader of South Gujrat. He won state assembly elections from Navsari assembly constituency five times and also once from Gandevi assembly constituency of Gujrat.
