But the good news is that rest of the Sri Lanka squad members have tested negative but will stay in quarantine for next 72 hours.

India tour of Sri Lanka – Batting Coach Tests Positive, Rest of team negative: Flower was found to be positive during a PCR test carried out on him today when Flower showed mild symptoms of the disease. Immediately upon identification, Flower was isolated from the rest of the team members (players and coaches) who are undergoing quarantine following their return from England. He is now undergoing due medical protocols. Whilst a new round of PCR Tests were conducted among the remaining squad members this evening & the good news is all of them have tested negative.
“None of our team members, who returned from England, tested positive,” Mohan de Silva, secretary of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), told The New Indian Express.
“For the first three days since arrival (July 6), the team members will have to undergo a strict quarantine in their respective hotel rooms. From the fourth day onward, they can use gyms and swimming pools at the hotel. They can also train there. After completion of the seven-day period, they can go outdoor for training,” added the SLC office-bearer.
Sri Lanka team will now be tested again after completion of 7 days in quarantine. Interestingly, Day 7 of the quarantine ends on July 12 and the first ODI is scheduled for the next day. “They can train in the hotel as it has facilities, which can be helpful,” said De Silva.
India tour of Sri Lanka: The Sri Lanka side has been quarantined upon their return on Tuesday. Perera & Co mingled with the lot in Bristol and there is the possibility of positive cases in the Lanka camp. Sri Lanka will face Shikhar Dhawan-led Team India in three ODIs and as many T20Is from July 13.
A member of Sri Lanka’s medical staff told ESPNcricinfo, “We have to find out how Flower got infected, and also which variant of the virus he has been infected with.”
India tour of Sri Lanka: The entire England squad was forced to isolate after multiple positive cases in the camp ahead of their limited-overs series against Pakistan and were forced to name nine uncapped players. A similar situation can evolve in Sri Lanka. Currently, all the players and staff members are being tested for COVID.

“We arrived here [in Colombo] and we haven’t been allowed to enter our rooms without the result of a rapid antigen test, which luckily, I think most of our squad have got through. We’ve done another PCR where the results come out tomorrow (Wednesday). At the end of that ODI there was a fair amount of banter between the two teams – quite a lot of chat and quite a lot of talk – so it did bring about some anxious times,” Sri Lanka coach Mickey Arthur told ESPNCricinfo.
India Tour of Sri Lanka: Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket will also increase the testing frequency to ruled out any false-negative results. “The players will undergo an appropriate quarantine period allocated by the Ministry of Health and frequent PCR tests before they begin training (for the India series),” one of the team doctors told Daily Mirror Sri Lanka.
