2021 Land Rover Defender 90 launched at Rs. 76.57 lakh

The Defender 90 is the short wheelbase version of the off-roader and it comes in three trims - Defender, X-Dynamic and Defender X.

Land Rover has now launched the 3-door Defender 90 in India. The SUV is priced from Rs. 76.57 lakh (ex-showroom).

The new Defender is based on the D7x architecture. The Defender 90 (3-door) measures 4,583 mm in length, 1,974 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,587 mm. In terms of design, the SUV borrows cues from the original Defender, blending rugged looks with contemporary design.

The Defender 90 comes in a 6-seat configuration with a central jump seat in the front. The SUV is equipped with Land Rover's Pivi infotainment system, which even has its own back-up battery.

The SUV comes in three trims - Defender, X-Dynamic and Defender X. The Defender and X-Dynamic trims are available in S, SE and HSE variants. Additionally, customers have the option to personalize their vehicles with four accessory packs - Explorer, Adventure, Country and Urban.

The Defender 90 is available with three engine options -

• 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 296 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,500-4,500 rpm
• 3.0-litre petrol engine producing 394 BHP @ 5,500-6,500 rpm and 550 Nm @ 2,000-5,000 rpm
• 3.0-litre diesel engine that makes 296 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 650 Nm @ 1,500-2,500 rpm

All engines come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with Land Rover's Terrain Response 2 system, electronic air suspension, a locking central differential and an active rear-locking differential.
