Rupee down 9 paise against USD

Mumbai, Jul 8 (UNI) The Rupee remained negative on Thursday also, as it fell by nine paise to settle at 74.70 against the USD on rising demand for the US Dollar by bankers and importers, dealers at the Forex Market said.
The domestic unit that slipped by 11 paise to 74.72 in opening trade, slightly improved from opening level and settled at 74.70 sliding by nine paise as compared to its previous close.
The Rupee was seen weak owing to firm dollar against other world currencies amid negative
equity market, the dealers said.
The local unit registered days high and low at 74.75 and 74.70 respectively.
