On Thursday morning a fire broke out inside the Central Bureau of Investigation building in New Delhi. Officials said nobody at the headquarters was injured and the fire was doused in an hour. There was a fire in the basement inside the AC Plant room. Six fire tenders reached the site and the fire was controlled in 20-30 minutes.
According to a CBI officer, smoke emanating was due to a short circuit in the generator in the CBI building. No fire and damage to properties were reported.
After the smoke, an automatic sprinkler system was activated. The functioning of the office will be restored in some time, added the CBI officer.

The blaze was reported in the parking area. At least six fire tenders were rushed to the spot soon after the fire control room received a call about the fire.
The firefighting operation was brought under control by the fire department officials.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the parking area within the premises. Officials rushed outside of the office soon after they saw smoke emanating from the parking site.
