Chennai Corporation starts removing posters from walls

CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation has started removing posters on walls in the city.
Corporation commissioner has instructed officials to clear the walls that have illegal posters. Five bus route roads will be taken up per zone every day.
Most of these posters were stuck on street name sign boards, government building walls, bus shelters and other public walls. The corporation appealed to residents to not deface the city walls.
The civic body hasn't yet informed whether it will identify and penalise the violators. However, it has asked residents to come forward and complain about such illegal posters. They could use the helpline 1913 to complain.
