Aurangabad, Jul 8 (UNI) Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 360 new cases of COVID-19 and six fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Thursday.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI showed that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed reported the highest 188 new cases and 3 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 48 cases and 2 deaths, Parbhani had 20 cases and single death, Osmanabad recorded 64 cases, Latur had 18 cases, Nanded had 11 cases, Jalna had 8 cases and Hingoli single case.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 9,558 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the cumulative number of infections in the state to 61,22,893.
The state also registered 147 new COVID deaths, taking the death toll to 1,23,857.
Meanwhile, 8,899 patients recovered in the state during the same time, pushing the total number of recoveries to 58,81,116.
The state's recovery rate now stands at 96.05 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.02 per cent.
At present there are 1,14,625 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at various COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
