Mah: Man gets death penalty for killing mother; consuming body parts

Kolhapur, Jul 8 (UNI) Considering it as a rarest of rare case, the district court here on Thursday awarded death sentence to a man for not only killing his mother but also dismembering her body for cannibalism.
The convict has been identified as Sunil Rama Kuchikorvi (35), a resident of the city’s Makadwala Vasahat.
According to Public Prosecutor Vivek Shukla, Sunil is an alcoholic and used to frequently quarrel with his mother and victim Yallava Rama.
On October 28 of 2017, the accused sought money from Yallava to buy liquor. As the elderly woman refused, an enraged Sunil assaulted and killed her with sharp objects, including knife.
Later, he brutally dismembered the body and even consumed several parts, stated Mr Shukla in the court.
Based on the testimonies of 12 witnesses, District Additional Session Court Judge Mahesh Jadhav pronounced the accused guilty and handed out death penalty.
