HYDERABAD:
Telangana recorded 731 new Covid-19 cases and 4 deaths on Thursday even as the number of active cases in the state reduced to 11,206.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year, stand at 6,29,785 and the death toll stands at 3,714.
The number of active containment zones in the state came down to 35. Currently there are no active micro containment zones are in Hyderabad while Mahabubabad with 11 and Bhadadri Kothagudem with 7 micro containment zones have majority of the active containment zones in the state.
A total of 993 patients were declared recovered on Thursday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,14,865. The case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 0.58 per cent while the recovery rate has improved to 97.63 per cent now. So far 79.8 per cent of overall cases in the state have been asymptomatic while 20.2 per cent have been symptomatic.
On Thursday, 1,02,761 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus. Telangana has now completed testing 1.94 crore samples and has reached 5.23 lakh sample testing per million population.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) recorded 80 new cases on Thursday, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri recorded 30 cases, Ranga Reddy recorded 37 and Sanga Reddy recorded 10 cases, continuing the decreasing trend in an around Hyderabad city. Outside of Hyderabad city and its outskirts, Peddapalli, Bhadadri Kothagudem and Mancheriyal saw more cases.
