TN Minister inspects sea erosion, physically carried to shore, video goes viral

Chennai, July 8 (UNI) A video carrying Tamil Nadu Fisheries
Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister Anitha R Radhakrishnan
by a group of people from the sea to the shore, went viral in the
social media on Thursday.
The Minister visited the Palaverkadu area in neighbouring Tiruvallur
district to inspect sea erosion and went a few yards into the sea by
a boat.
The visuals showed the Minister getting out of the boat amid an ankle
deep water. To avoid his white shoes getting wet, a few men carried
the Minister to the shore with the help of others.
However, the Minister did not attach too much significance to it and
said the people carried him out of love and he never asked them to
do so.
Earlier, after reaching the shore in his car, Mr Radhakrishnan got into
the boat by climbing on to a chair. After some fishermen along with
department officials got into the boat, it started shaking prompting
some of them to shift to another boat.
After the Minister completed his inspection, he returned to the shore
and a chair was placed for him to get down from the boat.
As he was visibly hesitant as his shoes would get wet, one of the
fishermen carried him on his hip to the shore, which was about 25
feet away, with the help of others, the video of which went viral on
the social media, attracting criticisms from the netizens.
