Indian Club Gaveliers (ICG) recently conducted its 4th annual bash. The online event was attended by members, alumni, parents, gaveliers from other clubs, counsellors, mentors and several dignitaries from the toastmasters fraternity in Qatar.
As a precursor to the event, gaveliers – Tejaswi Manoj and Aadharsha Ilan –posted few tricky questions to the guests. Aditya Jain anchored the ‘Bon Voyage’ themed meeting.
Aadi Umrani delivered a speech and earned the competent communicator award. Several gaveliers and parents took part in the table topics session.
Marc Prensky, noted author, leader and pioneer of digital game-based education, was the keynote speaker.
In his speech titled ‘Digital Natives Rising’, Marc exhorted youngsters to free themselves from old beliefs and learn the skills needed to succeed in the 21st century. He urged them to identify and engage in real world projects that transcend the barriers and boundaries of the standard curriculum.
Disha and Nikkil D’Cruz were the hosts of the entertainment show that followed. Several gaveliers displayed their versatility in fun-filled activities like spin-a-yarn, scavenger hunt, ad-zap, dance and mock parliament.
Club counsellor Surya Narayanan K thanked the outgoing executive committee led by Vidit Dalal.
He also swore in the new executive committee comprising Tejaswi Manoj, president; Nirat Pai, vice president of education; Vidit Dalal, vice president of membership and administration; Aishwika Kumaran, vice president of public relations; Harshini Jaikumar and Disha Gupta, sergeants at arms.
