MUMBAI: The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (
BJP) is misusing central agencies and senior leader
Eknath Khadse will come out of the inquiry.
On Thursday, Khadse appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (
ED) in connection with its probe into the
money laundering case.
A day ago, his son-in-law Girish Chaudhari was also arrested by the federal agency.
Reacting to the development, cabinet minister and NCP
Maharashtra president
Jayant Patil said that the BJP is misusing the central agencies as the former revenue minister was given honourable entry into the party.
Patil added that Khadse is innocent and no allegations have been proved, adding, "He has not done anything wrong, so he will come out of the inquiry. The central agencies are trying to bring him in trouble."
The NCP leader also claimed that the BJP's anger against the OBC leader Khadse is very old and they did not let him grow in their (BJP) party.
Khadse has said that the Bhosari land deal (in Pune) was a private transaction between his son-in-law and a private owner and there is a conspiracy to defame him.
