Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad, an ally of the BJP in Uttar Pradesh, has threatened the BJP for not being included his son Praveen Nishad in the newly formed PM Modi’s cabinet.
Expressing disappointment over the denial of his son for a ministerial berth in PM Modi’s new cabinet, Nishad said that the BJP may have to pay a heavy price in 2022 UP assembly polls over denial of ministry for son. He said if Apna Dal’s Anupriya Patel could get a place in the cabinet why can’t his son and MP Pravin Nishad be inducted.
Nishad said that the Nishad community are already ditching the BJP and if the party does not rectify its mistakes, it will face the consequences in next year’s assembly polls.
At present, the NISHAD (Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal) Party has one MLA in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Sanjay Nishad’s son Praveen Nishad is an MP from Sant Kabir Nagar. Praveen Nishad had won the Gorakhpur seat in a bypoll as the Samajwadi Party candidate and he was supported by the BSP, under the grand alliance between the two parties.
The Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat had fallen vacant after BJP MP Yogi Adityanath was elected as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
After the expansion of the PM Modi’s cabinet, the focus will be on the assembly elections to be held after a few months.
Giving importance to the poll bound state Uttar Pradesh, seven ministers have been sworn as the minister in new cabinet. With this, the total number of ministers from Uttar Pradesh has now increased to 16. Eyeing on Gujarat, the Prime Minister promoted Mansukh Mandaviya and Purushottam Rupala to cabinet rank.
In PM Modi’s new cabinet, faces from UP like Varun Gandhi to Rita Bahuguna Joshi were reduced to discussions and speculations.
Maneka Gandhi, who was a cabinet minister in the last term of the Modi government, did not get a place in the cabinet in 2019. In such a situation, there was a lot of discussion about the adjustment of his son and Pilibhit MP Varun Gandhi in detail. Maneka-Varun were in BJP as a symbolic face against the Congress Gandhi family but now the Narendra Modi-led BJP has gone ahead with such symbols to undermine and counter the Congress.
