First off thanks for taking the time to read this and giving any sort of response. Ill start off a little about me. Im 26 years old and have been very active my whole life. In high school I was a all region baseball player that played year round and shortly after graduating I found myself in the gym. It quickly became my passion and admittingly my obsession. I made a lot of good progress my first 3-5 years and was extremely happy with what I had accomplished. When i decided to try taking it the next level i realized I had a ton of past injuries that have resulted in huge muscle knots and pains. I have always been a more slender build (6'3" 180lb) but i wanted to try making it up to around the 195-200 mark. When i started the journey a lot of these old muscle pains and imbalances started to haunt me. I have a terrible knot in my left trap up by my neck which results in headaches and a pretty raised shoulder. I have never been able to do more than 3-4 pull ups at a time due to a sharp pain i have by my right shoulder blade, I struggle to get good contraction on biceps during any workout and same goes for my chest. I have gone to physical therapy for some of my issues but has been difficult to keep up with $100 a week just to workout. I havnt been in the gym the last 2-3 years now and have been dying to get back in but everytime i do i get discouraged cause these imbalances hinder my workouts even with light weight. I use a muscle hook couple times a day try to break some of these up. I constantly stretch my neck cause the knot causes headaches, i use to foam roll for hours a day as well as do yoga for an hour. Im wondering if there are any types or tricks anyone has figured out to really help break up some of these knots. Im nervous if i dont try getting back in soon im going to lose all motivation to continue in the future.
