"Start door-to-door vaccination in Kalyan-Dombivli," said Kunal Dinkar Patil, an independent corporator from Dombivli (East). However, KDMC claims they have already started mobile vaccination drive to reach the masses with densely populated area.
On July 6, 2021, Patil had written a letter to Vijay Suryavanshi, the municipal commissioner of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation to speed up the vaccination in small pockets and villagers so that it reaches the masses.
Patil in his letter had stated with the increasing population of Kalyan-Dombivli, the covid positive cases too kept increasing, which was noticed in the second wave. The chances for third wave can't be neglected in the near future. "In such situation vaccination of every citizens is important and should be completed to keep them safe from the coming wave," added Patil.
He further said due to the ongoing monsoon season many of the citizens are not coming out of their house. "Also, they are not aware about the vaccination centre and the online procedure. Seeing the crowd at vaccination centre, if vaccination is made available at door step. It will speed up the vaccination drive and reach the masses. Also, will decline the crowd at the vaccination centre," added Patil.
Meanwhile, the KDMC started an mobile vaccination on Wednesday in Kalyan East. On Thursday, the mobile vaccination was launched by Vijay Suryavanshi, Municipal Commissioner at I ward of KDMC i.e Khadegolavali in Kalyan east. Official from KDMC claim this area is densely populated. "The vaccination was started to reach the masses and speed up the drive in the densely populated area. Four buses were arranged under the mobile vaccination drive,where 2 buses were use for vaccination and two other were use as observation room. Many of this citizens are unaware about the online registration. We help them get register online and give them vaccination. Many also aviod coming to centre," said an official from KDMC.
On Wednesday around 2539 beneficiaries were vaccinated through mobile vaccination. On Thursday around 400 of the beneficiaries were vaccinated under the drive.
