Fortnite Alien Nanite locations explained: Where to find and how to deploy Alien Nanites
Nanimite.
Appearing during Week 5, and following on getting orders from a payphone and interacting with a CB Radio, this task is far less straightforward in comparison.
Alien Nanites are rather elusive, for some reason, and it may take you a while to stumble upon them. That being said, this guide explains how they spawn, some possible spots that worked for us, as well as how to deploy Alien Nanites once you've looted one.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 30k XP, which will help you unlock Battle Stars for the Season 7 Battle Pass.

Alien Nanite locations explained: Where to find and how to deploy Alien Nanites in Fortnite
Alien Nanites have two uses: they can turn specific guns into IO Weapons, working similarly to Nuts and Bolts, or can also be deployed to create a low gravity area. As such, an Alien Nanite is an item that has to be manually picked up.
Alien Nanite locations can be found:
The latter two are related - with Abductors taking you to the mothership - but if you are looking for Alien Nanites for the Week 5 Legendary Challenge, they have been disabled - at least on its debut.

Thus, you have to search for them spawning on the ground. Though they are classed as a common item, they appear to be rare, and for many players - including ourselves - have proven to be difficult to find.
In our experience, we found only a few after taking part in several matches.
Our main recommendation is to play as normal, perhaps completing other challenges as your main focus, but keeping an eye out on items spawning on the ground to see if it appears. The video embedded at the top of this page provides an example of what they look like.
If you are really struggling, while there is no guarantee that they will be there, we have marked the locations of where we found some with a degree of reliability near Pleasant Park (which is where you can also find alien parasites) - but, again, it might be easier to play the game normally as they can appear anywhere.

Alternatively, it might be worth waiting until Abductors return - assuming they will by the time the Week 5 Legendary Questline draws to a close.
The alien invasion of Fortnite continues with the arrival of mothership abducting, UFOs, Alien Artefacts, Cosmic Chests and ray guns. There are new Epic Challenges each week to be completed, including finding Nuts and Bolts, fishing spots and porta-potties. Elsewhere, there are time-limited Legendary Quests starting every Wednesday, with the latest steps including finding Sunny, Joey and Beach Brutus locations, Welcome signs, Boomboxes, Alien light communication devices on mountain tops and Cat Food locations.
After you get a hold of one, it's time to deploy it. For this, all you have to do is aim at any desired location and press the fire button to throw it.

This will create a field around the impacted area for a couple seconds, where you can float and do some quite peculiar jumps while inside. As soon as you deploy an Alien Nanite, the challenge will be over.
Now, it's time to take on the next challenge, which requires you to dance near Zyg and Choppy.
