Goons try to loot police team in Haryana, arrested

CHANDIGARH: Haryana Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three persons who had tried to loot a police team during routine patrolling in Panipat district. The police had also seized a countrymade pistol and two sticks from their possession.
Police spokesperson informed that arrested accused are identified as Ankit of Shamli in Uttar Pradesh, Vikas of Lakhimpur in Uttar Pradesh presently residing in Sonipat and Sandeep of Nangal Kalan, Sonipat.
Primary probe reveals that the accused were also involved in a blind murder incident in Delhi last year and five cases of oil theft from refinery pipe lines in Sonipat, Rohtak and Rewari. They were continuously changing their hideouts to evade arrest.
After getting a secret input about the accused that were plotting to loot commuters, a CIA team went to a location near Sector-29 . Police team sent a constable in civil clothes to nab the accused. After walking a short distance, all accused stopped to rob the constable at a gun-point, mistaking him as a passer-by. Other team members came out from the roadside and nabbed the criminals.
A case under relevant sections of IPC was registered against them and further probe is underway.
