STMicroelectronics,
a global semiconductor leader has announced collaboration with Arrival to
create electric vehicles using its unique technologies. ST is a maker of semiconductor technologies
that work for more than 10,000 customers while Arrival is the global technology
company that creates electric vehicles.
ST has been
chosen by Arrival as its key partner to bring its connected EVs to market. The
customers will be provided with future-proofed zero-emission commercial
vehicles. Arrival has decided to choose ST’s high-performance, automotive
microcontrollers, and ST technologies like smart-power and battery-management
devices for efficient vehicle electrification.
According to
Michael Anfang, Executive Vice President, STMicroelectronics, the company has been
working with Arrival for a very long time. He said that the company is proud of
its achievement. It was added that ST is a broad-based technology that offers
digitalized platforms. This collaboration will help the company to support
various operating models.
As per Sergey
Malygin, EVP of Technology, Arrival, STMicroelectronics process the best
technology in the market. The most advanced technologies have been chosen to
extend the life of the products and making them more sustainable.
Arrival’s
vehicles have been developed from the ground using new methods of design and
production. Because of this vertically integrated approach that is followed
using developed software, hardware, and robotics ensures that production
happens in the decentralised Micro-factories. By hiring local talent, paying
local taxes, and using local supply chain, These Micro-factories can be used
around the world. It is believed that Arrival’s entire vehicle portfolio that
comprises of bus, van, and cars will feature ST’s technologies. The company has
committed to purchase from UPS up to 10,000 electric vehicles.
