Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to announce the new team of his cabinet Wednesday at 6 pm. PM Modi is reshuffling and expanding the Union Cabinet for the first time, so many new faces are expected to get a place in this new team. Lok Sabha MP Meenakshi Lekhi's name has also been included in the list of ministers who are going to take oath today, as per a list shared by news agency ANI.
It is being said about PM Modi's new cabinet that it will be the youngest team. In such a situation, Meenakshi Lekhi herself is a youth leader and has been a member of the BJP for two consecutive terms. Lekhi won the elections from New Delhi in 2014 as well as in 2019.

Supreme Court lawyer and social activist
Meenakshi Lekhi is now a well-known advocate of the Supreme Court after having served as an advocate in the Delhi High Court apart from several tribunals. As an advocate, Lekhi has kept women's issues especially domestic violence, family disputes and Permanent Commission for Women in the Armed Forces in the court. In 2019, Lekhi had filed a criminal case of contempt against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over the Rafale deal.
Apart from being a social worker, she has also been associated with the National Commission for Women. She has also been a part of the drafting committee of the Women's Reservation Bill and the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal). Along with this, she has also been associated with Swadeshi Jagran Manch.
Active participation in politics
Meenakshi Lekhi has been on BJP's side on various forums for a long time before becoming an MP. Due to her good command over Hindi and English, she continued to work as a BJP spokesperson. Along with this, she has also been writing a column in 'The Week' magazine. At the same time, she has been participating in Parliament debates on issues of national importance like triple talaq etc.
Lekhi started her political career with BJP in the year 2010. She was made the Vice President of BJP Mahila Morcha. After this, in the year 2013, she was made the national spokesperson of the party. In 2014, Lekhi contested her first election from the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat and won. In 2019, Lekhi again captured the seat. As an MP, Lekhi adopted Delhi's Pilanji village under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana.
In 2017, Lekhi was honoured with the Parliament Lokmat Award as the Best Debut Woman Parliamentarian.

Born on 30 April 1967 in New Delhi, Meenakshi Lekhi did her LLB from DU's Law Center after doing her BSc in Botany from Hindu College, Delhi. In 1990, Lekhi started practicing in the Delhi High Court, tribunals formed in many parts of the country and the Supreme Court along with registration in the Bar Council of Delhi.
Lekhi's husband's name is Aman Lekhi, who is a lawyer in the Supreme Court of India and also the Additional Solicitor General of India. He has studied from St Xavier's School, Delhi. They both have two children.
