Chirag Paswan and Pashupati Kumar Paras

Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan on Wednesday tweeted that the party strongly objected to inclusion of Pashupati Kumar Paras in the Union Cabinet.

He also tweeted that the party has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on Wednesday against the Lok Sabha Speaker's decision to consider Paras as the leader of the LJP in the House.

Paswan, who has been in a tussle with uncle Paras over the control of LJP had earlier said, "He can be made minister as an Independent but if he is made minister as an LJP MP, then I have an objection to it. If he is made minister from the LJP quota, we will also go to court against it".

Chirag's uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras and leader of the rebel faction currently represents the constituency in Lok Sabha.

Ram Vilas Paswan’s death has led to factional fight within his party with both his son Chirag Paswan and his brother Pashupati Kumar Paras claiming to be representing the LJP.

Taking a dig at the current government in the state, he said that JDU's days are numbered and that Cabinet expansion at the centre will leave out JDU leaders. He said, "Mark my words, the countdown of this government has begun. JDU politicians should pray that the Cabinet expansion does not take place otherwise the first breakdown will occur in JDU".
