Malhargarh (Mandsaur district, Madhya Pradesh): Under the drive to check smuggling of intoxicants in the district, Pipliyamandi police station incharge Shiv Kumar Yadav arrested a person for transporting 60 litres liquor worth Rs 6,000 on a stolen motorcycle, which cost Rs 40,000.

Assistant Sub Inspector Mohanlal Verma posted in police station of Pipliyamandi got information that illicit liquor was being transported on a motorcycle.

The police team barricaded the area near railway underbridge on Ujagriya Thadod Road and stopped motorcycle (RJ 09 SF 4926) and biker Babu Mathariya, 35, resident of Multanpura.

The police found mahua liquor in plastic cans tied around both the sides of motorcycle without permits. Police seized the bike and illicit liquor and also arrested accused Babu. The accused was not able to produce documents related to motorcycle.

The chasis number of the bike was erased. When the police questioned the accused sternly, he confessed that bike was stolen. The police have registered a case against accused under relevant sections. Further investigation is underway.
