LUDHIANA: A show cause notice has been issued to the BJP district vice president and former deputy mayor RD Sharma for anti-party activities in the past few days. Sharma has been given two days to explain why disciplinary action should not be taken against him. The district general secretary of BJP Ram Gupta issued the show cause notice on the directions of BJP district president Pushpinder Singhal. Recently the former cabinet minister and BJP leader Anil Joshi had come to city and he met a few party leaders at the residence of RD Sharma. Through this meeting Joshi had tried to convince the district leaders to support farmer protests and create pressure on the state as well as center leadership to drop farm ordinances. Joshi has also been given the notice. In the notice to Sharma it is mentioned that he has done anti-party activities and also gave statements against state and central government. When contacted, Sharma denied from doing any anti-party activities and said, "I have done nothing against party rather we want people should trust the party and its workers again. I will give my reply to the leadership. " Notably, Joshi had shown support to the farmer agitation by saying they have to contest the elections in Punjab and they cannot ignore the voice of people from Punjab. Joshi had held state leaders of BJP responsible for the condition of party workers and attacks on them. He had alleged since state leaders did not reach out to union government with problems of people in Punjab and this is the reason farmer agitation took such a shape.
