Man in Kanpur kills father for not allowing 'lover' to stay

KANPUR: A son hacked his father to death because the latter did not allow him to keep his alleged ‘lover’ in the house with whom he had eloped.
The incident took place in Bhikhipur are under Ajitmal Kotwali police station of Auraiya district in the early hours of Tuesday.
On the information given by the family members, police reached the spot and started investigations.
The accused, identified as Shivam, a resident of Bhikhipur, attacked his father Arvind Kumai* (55) repeatedly with a trident in the wee hours of Tuesday He had sustained grievous injuries on his chest. The family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival, said inspector Ram Sahai.
By the time other inmates of the house woke up, Shivam had fled from the spot, the inspector further said.
The family members told the police that a few days ago the accused had brought a woman from a nearby village, and was adamant on keeping her with him. His father Arvind opposed this and sent the woman back to her house.
The body has been dispatched to the mortuary for conducting post-mortem examination. The search is on to arrest the accused, the inspector said.
The inspector said the investigations revealed that Shivam had eloped with a woman hailing from a nearby village.
