43 leaders will take oath as Union Ministers in the Union Cabinet expansion, to be held later today

Around 43 leaders are expected to be sworn in as Union Ministers in the Union Cabinet expansion on Wednesday evening, said sources. "Forty-three leaders will take oath as Ministers in the Union Cabinet expansion, to be held later today," the sources said. Earlier the sources said that expansion will happen at 6.00 pm on Wednesday. This came after the conclusion of the high-level meeting at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence in the national capital. Read more

21 new faces likely in Modi2.0, Bihar tipped for lion's share

A new look Modi government will be unveiled on Wednesday evening as 21 new faces find their way into the Council of Ministers. This will be the first big reshuffle of Modi2.0 and the names have been arrived at after much distillation and confabulations, looking at 2022 election scenario with five states, including Uttar Pradesh headed for polls. Ahead of the Union Cabinet expansion at 6 pm, a high-level meeting is underway Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg in the national capital. Most senior National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders and Union Cabinet Ministers are present in the meeting. These leaders include Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president JP Nadda, BJP leaders Meenakshi Lekhi, Sarbananda Sonowal, Parshottam Rupala, Nisith Pramanik, Janata Dal (United) leader RCP Singh, and Lok Janshakti Party leader Pashupati Paras. The reshuffle and expansion of the union council of ministers, the first in the second term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is likely to see record induction of members from OBC and SC communities.
