Ludhiana: Students of the Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, here, brought laurels to the college by achieving excellent results in the BCA examinations held in February and March 2021. Principal Maninder Kaur said in the BCA 1st semester examinations, Ishpreet Kaur stood second in Panjab University, Chandigarh, by securing 95.5 per cent while Manchet Kaur obtained the fourth position in the university by scoring 95 per cent. In the BCA 3rd semester examinations, Deep Kiran Kaur and Damanpreet Kaur jointly bagged the second position in the university by obtaining 98.4 per cent. In the BCA 5th semester examinations, Avneet Kaur stood third in the university by obtaining 97.75 per cent. General secretary of the college governing body Gurvinder Singh and principal Maninder Kaur congratulated all students.
Informative session on road safety
The Partap College of Education, Ludhiana, organised an informative session on road safety awareness on a digital platform. Pardeep, assistant professor of the college, welcomed Pankaj Kumar, senior safety riding coordinator, Children Traffic Training Park, Ludhiana. He made students aware of the traffic rules, road safety measures and latest implications in the Motor Vehicles Act. Principal Dr Manpreet Kaur motivated all students to follow the traffic rules while commuting on roads.
Webinar on effective communication
A webinar on effective communication was organised at Drishti Dr RC Jain Innovative Public School under the aegis of of the Ludhiana Sahodaya School Complex (LSSC) in which teachers from various schools of the city participated. The resource person was Gauri Chhabra, principal, Drishti School, who is an expert in the field with an experience of training over 1,500 students in communication. She elaborated the difference in methods of communication used in the past and the present. The four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing were explained to the teachers who were actively engaged in the interactive session.
Online classes resume
DCM Presidency School, Elementary Campus, reopened on Monday after summer holidays. Teachers welcomed students virtually after a month-long break. The teachers organised various activities to engage them in the class. The online session started with a welcome song and a virtual tour to the underwater world which every child cherished.
