Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her father for two years in Sagar district, police said on Wednesday.
The girl, on Wednesday, revealed her ordeal to other family members, who took her to Cant police station of the district and lodged a complaint. The police have registered a case.
In her complaint to police, the victim claimed that her father had threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed it to anybody. She also told police that father used to assault her.
Cant police station incharge Samarjeet Singh told journalists that the accused, 40, has been arrested and is being questioned. “As it was a very serious issue, the accused was arrested with immediate effect. The medical examination of the girl has been conducted and a report is awaited,” he said.
