QuTech unveils system for untappable quantum cryptography over fibre

Wednesday 7 July 2021 | 12:02 CET | News
QuTech, a collaboration between TU Delft and TNO, has developed a system that enables untappable quantum cryptography over fibre networks. To achieve this goal, engineers from QuTech used measurement device-independent (MDI) quantum key distribution (QKD), for untappable communication that is scalable for multiple users. The untappable communication can take place over the same fibre connection as conventional internet traffic.
