A selfless Sydney nurse who spent the day swabbing her community for Covid-19 has been hit with an 'unwarranted' $275 parking fine.

The frustrated health worker took to a local Facebook group to vent on Tuesday, explaining she had parked her car at 11pm after a long day at the hospital.

The inner west resident said she didn't return to her vehicle the following morning because Greater Sydney was in lockdown and she had been feeling unwell.

The inner west nurse supplied a photo of the parking ticket which revealed the $275 fine had been issued for obstructing access to a ramp, path or passageway.

'I'm glad parking inspectors are considered essential,' she wrote.

'Now my whole pay will go to the inner west council.'

However, the inner west resident denies she parked over a driveway on the Rozelle street or blocked wheelchair access.

'I looked at it before I left, the guy in front of me was so close to the other car I needed to leave him room to get out,' the nurse explained.

To add salt to the wound, the woman said her car's back windscreen had been smashed in by a removalist truck on the same street in April.

Angry members of the Facebook group were quick to leave their advice in the comments, many encouraging the nurse to dispute the fine with local council.

'You 100 per cent should ask for special consideration, you should not be punished after giving so much to the community,' one woman wrote.

'The amount they fined you is a joke in itself. You haven't blocked the driveway or ramp access, there are steps to that path which you haven't blocked either. It doesn't make sense,' another local said.

'At a time when so many people are forced to be at home during the two hour parking limits, meter maids should not be counted as essential,' a third shared.

'Oh wow that looks very marginal. I hope you can over-turn this. Unfair,' a fourth commented.

A few hours later the Sydney nurse posted an update in her original post revealing a Good Samaritan had paid her $275 parking fine.

'I'm absolutely lost for words, never in my life have I experienced kindness like this,' she wrote, explaining a 'beautiful' person in the community had sent her a receipt of payment.

'I will work extra hard tomorrow at my shift at the Covid vaccination clinic vaccinating as many as I can in our community.

'And I will try and park better.'
