THANE: After a slowdown in new
Covid-19 cases for three days, Thane city reported over 100 fresh cases.
On Wednesday, 132 people tested positive for the virus, taking the overall count to 1,34,019.
During the day, 94 people were also discharged. So far, 1,31,010 people have recovered.
The recovery rate now stands at 97.75 per cent. The doubling rate is 1,074 days.
Three people with comorbidities also died and with that, the overall fatalities have reached 2,028.
Among the news cases, 23 people tested positive in
Vartak Nagar, followed by 21 in Kalwa, 19 in Majiwada-Manpada, 16 in Lokmanya-Savarkar, 11 each in Naupada-Kopri and Uthalsar, 10 each in Wagale and Diva and four in Mumbra.
Seven cases were found from out of Thane jurisdiction.
At present, 981 people are taking treatment.
The civic body also administered 13,975 doses at government centres and 5,201 jabs were given at private centres.
