Jalgaon, Jul 6 (UNI) The Dhule unit of Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday arrested two engineers of Public Works Department for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 2.58 lakh from a complainant in Amalner tehsil of the district.
Based on complaint filed by the complainant, who is working as a site engineer for a construction company in Dhule, which had won a contract from the PWD at Amalner for construction of a hostel for tribal girls, ACB's investigation proved that Dinesh Patil (Sub-Divisional engineer Class 1) had demanded a bribe of Rs 2.58 lakh from the complainant, through junior engineer Satyajit Gandhilkar, in return for the payment of the bill amount.
Accordingly, the Dhule ACB have arrested two accused and filed a case under sections 7 and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Amalner police station against the duo, an official release said.
