Experienced tactician Gavin Hunt has swiftly found a new managerial position following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs after being appointed as head coach at Chippa United, the club announced on Wednesday.
"Chippa United Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Gavin Hunt as the Club's new Head Coach," a club statement read.
"Welcome to Eastern Cape, The Home Of The Chilli Boys."
The 56-year-old Hunt's departure at Chiefs was the first time he had been sacked in his managerial career, which dates back to 1995.
Under Hunt's guidance, the Soweto giants finished an underwhelming campaign in eighth position.
The former Bidvest Wits mentor is the longest-serving head coach in the modern PSL era and is also the most decorated coach currently serving in the PSL.
Hunt has won numerous individual accolades such as his first Coach of the Year award in 2002 while at Black Leopards.
He then repeated the same feat on three consecutive occasions as he guided SuperSport United to three PSL titles in a row from 2008 to 2010.
Later Hunt also guided the now-defunct Bidvest Wits to their first ever league title in the club's 99-year history back in 2016.
