One feared drowned in water-filled quarry

Thane, Jul 6 (UNI) A man from Dativali village of Diva is feared drowned in a water filled quarry in the village on Tuesday the civic sources said.
The chief of the RDMC of the TMC Santosh Kadam said that the man aged around 35, Deven Dalvi had gone to the quarry around 17.00 hours for a swim. While swimming he got drowned in the waters.
Those nearby alerted the fire brigade following which the local police, firemen and the team of RDMC rushed to the scene and launched a search operations.
He said that the search operations have been called off for the day due to darkness. The help of scuba divers is also taken to search for the body he said.
So far eight persons have drowned in the lakes and water filled quarries in the city Kadam said.
