Parkland search for missing Melbourne man

Police are searching parkland in Melbourne's southeast as part their investigation into the suspicious disappearance of Brendon Farrell.

The 32-year-old was reported missing on June 2 by his family.

He was last seen by a friend on the afternoon of May 31 at his home, at the rear of a building on Kidds Road in Doveton.

Missing Persons Squad Detective Inspector Andrew Stamper last week said he believed a "significant violent event" took place at the property that day.

Mr Farrell's phone and bank accounts have not been accessed since May 31 and one of his two bicycles remains missing.

Detectives from the missing person squad extended their search for Mr Farrell on Tuesday to include the parkland off Cemetery Road in Cranbourne.

They were joined by officers from the public order response team and mounted branch, while drones were also used to search the area.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who has information about an altercation at the Kidds Road property on May 31 or has knowledge of who was present at the time.
