Fruit plantation drive at Doimukh, Arunachal
Rajiv Gandhi University Teachers’ Association [RGUTA] organized fruit plantation drive to make the environment clean, green and oxygen rich
Rajiv Gandhi University Teachers’ Association launched a fruit plantation drive around the RGUTA office premise on 28th June 2021. Under this plantation drive, around two dozen saplings of plum and orange were planted around the RGUTA Office. These saplings were donated by Dr. Philip Modi, General Secretary, RGUTA. He has also been working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Commerce of the state lone central varsity.
This programme was to be organised on the occasion of the world environment day on 5th June 2021 by the esteemed RGUTA Executive Body Members. However, this plan could not be materialised due to the ongoing pandemic situation in the state. This plantation drive began with a welcome address by the General Secretary, RGUTA.
Almost all the executive members of RGUTA were present in the programme. Dr. Daniel Mize, President, RGUTA also appreciated the initiative and put his scientific and social remarks to this event whereby he highlighted the significance of such drive to the sustainability of environment and survival of mankind as well.
Every executive member present in the programme planted a fruit sapling around the RGUTA office premise including Professor Boa Reena Tok, Vice President, RGUTA and other esteemed EC members of the association.
Eventually programme was concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Vinod Kumar Yadav, Joint Secretary, RGUTA, wherein expressed his overwhelming thanks to each and every member of the association present in
the programme to make the programme gracious and meaningful.
Furthermore, he designated the leading member of the association behind this successful event that is general secretary as the ‘Son of Soil’ in true sense, and appealed everyone to learn the great lessons from the nature and environment that always teach us to be kind, friendly and helpful to each and everyone transcending the boundary of discriminatory and divisive behaviour.
