THANE: In a positive development, Thane city has seen a drop in new
Covid-19 cases for the third day in a row.
On Tuesday, the city reported 60 new cases against 97 on Monday and 100 on Sunday. With the new cases, the overall count has increased to 1,33,887.
The Mumbra region reported zero new cases for the second day in a row.
However, two people succumbed to the virus. So far, 2,025 people have lost their lives. Both the deceased had co-morbidities and were above the age of 60.
During the day, 85 people were also discharged from hospitals.
So far, nearly 1.31 lakh people have recovered and 964 are taking treatment.
The recovery rate is 97.78 per cent and the doubling rate is 1,154 days.
Also, 4,219 people were vaccinated in private centres.
Among the new cases, 16 people tested positive in Kalwa, 12 in Majiwada-Manpada, 11 in Vartak Nagar, eight in Lokmanya-Savarkar Nagar, seven in Naupada-Kopri and two each in Uthalsar, Wagale and Diva wards.
