Ulhasnagar: Looking at several protests and demands related to changes into technical problems arising into regularization of illegal structures, as per passed 2006 based law, especially for Ulhasnagar city, the Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde has called an urgent meeting of senior IAS officers and political representatives from Ulhasnagar at Mantralaya, on Wednesday.
The civic sources said that the minister can make a decision about the ready reckoner rate issue of charging penalty from citizens for regularization as per 2006 ready reckoner rate instead of charging penalty as per current year.
The minister can also take decisions on other major technical problems like ownership of land, stamp duty on flats which are resold several times without payment of stamp duty.
Meanwhile, ahead of the meeting, Jeevan Idnani, senior corporator and former deputy mayor has written to the minister recommending some suggestions pertaining to the regularization of unauthorized development in the city.
Idnani in his letter said, "Regularization act passed in 2006 provides for recovery of compounding fees. The fees for land encroachment go into the treasury of state government while fees on account of building violation go into Municipal corporation treasury".
Idnani further in the letter said all fees received under this act shall be credited to a fund called 'Infrastructure Development Fund' which should be used for the improvement of infrastructure in the city.
Along with all these demands, Idnani also demanded that the government should make changes to the cluster plan by reducing the plot size requirement for development up to 2,000 square meters instead of compulsion of 10,000 square meters.
