Veritas hires Murray to lead ANZ

Enterprise data protection specialist Veritas Technologies has appointed Pete Murray to the role of managing director for Australia and New Zealand.

"Pete brings a wealth of experience to Veritas, from his proven track record of building strong teams to utilising the power of channel and reseller ecosystem to deliver results," said Veritas vice president and managing director for Asia South and Pacific region Andy Ng .

"With his well-rounded expertise in cultivating both extensive customer and partner networks, we have no doubt Pete will be able to further propel Veritas into its next stage of growth in the ANZ region."

Murray brings 30 years of experience of IT industry experience to Veritas.

He joins the company from Pure Storage where he was the director of strategic channels for the Asia Pacific and Japan region.

Murray previously spent 13 years with Dimension Data, most recently as regional director for NSW and ACT. During this period he also served for five years as chairman of Dimension Data's Viiew subsidiary.

Earlier in his career, Murray held general manager or director level roles at Telstra, Touchbase and Avaya.

He holds a bachelor of commerce in management science and information systems from the University of Auckland.

Murray is a board member of fundraising and wellness organisation Tour de Office, and in 2017 founded the Jack Edge Connected Classroom Foundation.

"In the new hybrid working world, organisations can feel like there is more complexity than ever to mitigating the ever-evolving ransomware and compliance risks, said Murray.
