BHOPAL: The inauguration of 'Tantya Bhil' hostel at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Hindi University, Sukhi Sewaniya, was done through the virtual medium in the presence of higher education minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday.

Minister Yadav equated the university with Nalanda and Taxila universities and said that the Hindi University would also attain the same heights.

The vice-chancellor of the university, professor Ramdev Bhardwaj, presented a documentary analysis of the university and highlighted the progressive growth of the university. The university had started with 60 students and, today, has 4,700 students. He said that the university was running at four different places in the past. Building on the strength of these places, today, its own building has started in Mughalia Kot. Here, hostels for the students and buildings for the teachers and staff have been completed.

Bhardwaj said that, as a step towards becoming a self-reliant university, it has established study centres in Madhya Pradesh under the employment-oriented course, due to which the university has received a fee of Rs 6 crore 25 lakh. Currently, 34 diploma courses are being conducted by the university.

The programme was coordinated by Bhupendra Kumar, department of journalism and mass communications. On this occasion, the director of Study Centre, Arun Khobore, and the university staff were also present.
