DiDi takes down mobile app in China, watchdog says it infringes user data regulations

Mobility technology platform DiDi Global has announced its app takedown in China. Back on July, the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) stated that it was reported and confirmed that the 'DiDi Chuxing' app had the problem of collecting personal information, violating Chinese regulations. Pursuant to the PRC's Cybersecurity Law, the CAC notified app stores to take down the 'DiDi Chuxing' app in China, and required the company to comply with the relevant laws and regulations, follow the standards set by government authorities, and rectify the problem to ensure the security of users'
