Update: June 28, 2021

After the leaked renders of the Galaxy Watch Active 4, the renders of the Galaxy Watch 4 have surfaced. Looking at the renders, it appears the Galaxy Watch 4 is nearly identical to the upcoming Galaxy Watch Active 4 in terms of design, with some minor changes here and there.

These leaked renders have been shared by 91Mobiles tech after receiving them through their “reliable industry source.” The renders show the Galaxy Watch 4 in a circular build, similar to the Galaxy Watch Active, the buttons, however, look a little flatter. Just like the leak of the Galaxy Watch Active 4, these renders of the Galaxy Watch 4 also appear to be some kind of promotional stuff.

Alongside the renders, the tech site also shares some details of the alleged Galaxy Watch Active 4. The Galaxy Watch 4 is also said to have a bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) sensor for monitoring body composition. The watch is already speculated to feature real-time heart rate monitoring and blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) tracking.

The watch is going to come in 40mm and 44m sizes just like the upcoming Galaxy Watch Active 4. It has 5ATM water resistance, MIL-STD 810G durability, GPS, and Gorilla Glass DX+ protection. It is said to be coming in black, silver, dark green, and rose gold color options.

Apart from the design and key details, the renders also confirm the name of the watch.

Samsung is tipped to launch the Galaxy Watch 4 in the second quarter of this year. This means we could see it coming anytime between April and June. But the reports on the same have just started to build and if these are to be believed, the near launch looks implausible.

According to a report from The Elec, it appears the suppliers of Samsung have just started delivering the components for the next Galaxy watch. The report states that China’s Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) will supply batteries to 41mm Galaxy Watch 4. And, the battery capacity for the 45mm variant will come from the company’s own SDI segment.

The report further states that the 41mm is going to have a 240mAh battery and the 45mm will have a 350mAh. The report indicates that the change in battery capacities is an implication that the circuit board and display panel will also undergo design changes, which in turn confirms an overall design change of the smartwatch.

The report hasn’t commented on the design changes but looking at the only reported specification change, Samsung is just updating the form factor to make it a little larger than the predecessor.

The report also states Samsung is likely to use Google Wear OS for the new watch rather than Tizen OS. Past rumor has stated the watch is going to measure blood glucose as well with the help of a non-invasive method.

Note that the Galaxy Watch 3 was launched in August 2020 and following this, its successor should also arrive during the same timeframe but a recent tip has a different stance on it. As per the famous Ice Universe tipster on Twitter, the Galaxy Watch 4 may release in Q2 2021, a little earlier than the supposed launch.

Well, whatever the launch time frame is, we are still pretty much far from knowing the Galaxy Watch 4 exactly. So stay tuned while we collect more information for you.
