Imphal, July 04 2021: DIPR Director H Balkrishna launched Elite TV, a 24 hour news channel, today at its office near Uripok Laikhulembi.

Speaking at the launch event, H Balkrishna said even though Manipur is a small State, the functioning of the media is commendable.

Many people including youth also like journalism as a profession, he added.

He also urged news readers/anchors to analyze the news thoroughly and not just read whatever has been written in order to avoid mistakes.

Jit Ningomba, Editor of Elite TV said, Elite TV was founded by a group of like minded people with the aim of providing 24 hours news service to the people of Manipur and has been registered as Elite Group of Communications and Network under MSME.

Elite TV has also been registered as Cable TV (CTV) under Manipur Post and Telegraph Act, he added.

The launch event was also attended by veteran journalist BB Sharma; RK Nimai, IAS (retd); political analyst L Saratchandra; senior journalist Pradip Phanjoubam; senior journalist RK Bobychand and P Sonamani, former Senior SP, Nagaland.
