
Three people, including a two-month-old baby, have been killed, while 14 others have been injured after a minibus taxi and a truck collided near Underberg on Monday.
According to the police, the crash occurred in Khilimoni Road, near Underberg at approximately 07:00.
"Two adult males and a two-month-old baby sustained injuries and were certified dead at the scene", police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele said.
She added that 14 other passengers were injured, and were taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services (EMS) said they treated six people who were injured on the scene.
"Sadly three people have sustained fatal injuries at this crash and paramedics have treated at least six patients at the scene before transporting them through to the local hospital for continued medical care," KwaZulu-Natal EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened at Himeville police station for investigation.
