Psychiatric reports are being prepared on a medical student who is accused of throwing acid over a young doctor.
Milad Rouf is accused of leaving Dr Rym Alaoui with 'life-changing' injuries after the horror doorstep attack in Brighton.
Dr Alaoui, who is in her 20s, was rushed to the Royal Sussex Hospital she works at after the shocking incident at 4.20pm on May 20.
She had injuries on her face and chest from the noxious substance and was treated by her colleagues.
Rouf, 25, of Cardiff, appeared at Lewes Crown Court charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and using sulphuric acid 'with intent to burn, maim, disfigure or disable'.

But Judge Christine Laing QC then adjourned the case so that a psychiatric report to be prepared on the defendant with the next hearing listed for August 2.
She told Rouf: 'Until then, you will remain in custody.'
Rouf, who previously appeared at Hove crown court over the same charge, did not enter a plea.
In the incident in May, Dr Alaoui is believed to have answered her door in Steine Garden, near Brighton magistrates' court.
Someone is said to have knocked before she was sprayed with the noxious substance that left her with 'life changing' injuries.
Neighbours in the quiet cul-de-sac were shocked by the incident and told how the doctor was rushed into the back of an ambulance.
One said: 'She was attacked after answering her door to a caller. Then they have thrown some liquid at her and its gone all down her face and front.
'It all happened before I got home from work but there was a real commotion with police, concerned bystanders and an ambulance.
'I don't know the lady who lives there but by all accounts she is quite badly injured. I just hope she's going to be okay.'

Another said: 'Although we are quite close to Brighton centre here, it is a very quiet street and very neighbourly.'
They added: 'I can't imagine why this has happened. It's shocking, absolutely shocking.'
Dr Alaoui, who is a trainee doctor, studied at Cardiff University and is interested in anaesthetics and neurology.
After medical school she headed to Brighton to work at the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
