Baramulla, Jul 5 (UNI) A District Development Council (DDC) member was on Monday remanded to ten day police remand by a court in alleged assault case in north Kashmir district of Bandipora.
The DDC member from Apni Party (AP) Ghulam Mohiuddin Rather, representing Arin, Bandipora constituency, was arrested last week for allegedly assault revenue officials, including tehsildar.
On a written complaint by Tehsildar and other revenue officials, police registered an FIR no 107/2021 under section 307, 353, 392 IPC at police station Bandipora against Rather.
following a complaint by the officials that Rather assaulted them when they were on duty at Kudhara village of the constituency on Saturday.
In the complainant said that a team of revenue officials headed by tehsildar reached the Serender village in connection with some official and urgent work, where one person namely Ghulam Mohiuddin Rather from Arin and others assaulted the whole team, especially Tehsildar Bandipora and caught hold of his neck and tried to kill him. During the action, accused and his associates snatched and tore essential documents of Kudhara road and stole them, the complaint alleged.
Today the police moved to court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM and they sought that the accused be remanded to police custody for further investigation.
The CJM granted a10-days custody of Rather to the police with effect from today.
